One dusty town

In my search for the perfect place to plant my little family, me, my 2.5 year old and our 3 beloved dogs, have landed on the Mexico/New Mexico/Texas border. Horseback riding in Texas is unbelievably reasonable and people are very nice, and a more honest people than I have ever known (aside from New Yorkers). The salsa is the balm here and there is more freedom for dogs to run cause mucho desert is uninhabited. We came here to be supportive of a family member and wanted to travel Mexico but it became too death defying. The dust situation stems from desert winds that blow down and up, east and west, and I kid you not, you dust, vacuum, sweep, or die in it daily.

Our time has come to consider other places to habitate, particularly with more bodies of water to play in and by, and one that doesn't require daily dusting of furnishings. I want to root, I swear, but California is too expensive and Texas is too dry. I have lived in: New York (born there), California, Louisiana, Iowa, Colorado, and Ohio/South Dakota (the 2 previous for a short time) and though I like Colorado the most, I just ain't into snow with a toddler in tow. Since my 2 years of growing up in New Orleans introduced me to humidity, we shant go too far south, or will we? So where to go?

Either way, we're outta here pretty soon. Probably south to the land of frizzy hair, but the beaches of Corpus Christy sound more enticing than the desert. But for now, I will dust again tomorrow.

Ever since we got here I have been clearing through all the information I have thus gathered on earth and have gotten through to a need to improve who I am: body, mind, soul and traveler...
